I'm going back to Brazil!

I’ll be back at Alpha Omega this summer from June 6th-July 6th! You can follow my account and keep up with my mission trip while I’m there. For those who do not already know, I’ve traveled with Georgetown College the past four years to Alpha Omega Children’s Home. However, I’m graduated and done there, and will be returning for an extended period of time. I’m very thankful that God has allowed this to happen, because I’ve always wanted to stay longer than 2 weeks!  It may be a little more challenging because I won’t be with a group, but the biggest challenge has been conquered: How am I going to pay to get there, stay there, and pay for all the supplies that I won’t be taking with me and will have to buy over there thanks to only have 2 bags? Well, God will make a way if it’s what is to happen, which he has done. Thankfully, God has allowed a LOT to happen with my new Mary Kay business. Everybody who has bought anything from me has helped fund this trip! I am also receiving a lot of help from church, at Turner Ridge, and the school I work at, Main Street CEC. Many, many, many thanks go to all of those who have helped in any way!

There are a few planned activities confirmed so far that I'll be participating in while I'm there. Unfortunately, Tracy Cole will not be going back at the same time this year, but she has been working hard to plan some activities for the children. She's raised over 500 silly bands to be used as a conversation starter while visiting schools to invite children to come to a Library Day to promote reading. This will help get kids involved with the brand new library that many of you reading this post helped to fund. Another big event that is being worked on is Family Day. This will take place one Sunday along with church. They have a lot of children that attend church, and the hope is that it will encourage parents to come as well. There will be lunch and activities planned for families to participate in. This will be a great tool to get to know parents, and learn how they can help them physically and spiritually. Other things are being planned, but for now that's what confirmed. Also, there will be a lot of painting to be done....a lot, I hear. :)

So for all of you reading this, I hope I can keep up with it while I’m gone. It’s through your giving that this trip will take place, so I guess I owe you one ;) As long as I do my part, this should provide a good prayer tool as well. I encourage you to click "follow" or enter your email address to the right to receive updates, and follow through with prayer. Begin praying for things already planned, but also pray for the preparation still yet to be made.

Lastly, If you would like to support any activities going on during June, or any wish list items,  you can do so by making a Pay-Pal contribution or sending it through the mail to Turner Ridge. You can check the activities under the "activities/events/wishlist" page, and see contact information on the "Contact" page.

Thanks again for all the support, and I can't wait to let you all know how God is using your prayers and support through this trip.
